Intensive

Unless you require 24 -hour medical care in a Detox or Comprehensive Medical programme at the outset, most Sanctuary Byron Bay programmes will begin at an intensive level , specifically designed to take into account your:

  • personal issues;
  • relevant history;
  • co-existing psychological difficulties such as depression and anxiety;
  • ways of being in and relating to the world; and
  • relationship difficulties.
After a thorough assessment, the professionals from each healing modality liaise to create a specific, detailed and integrated programme tailored specifically to your unique needs. Intensive programmes combine a range of daily therapies and activities. Each day, you will have regular appointments with selected members of your treating team including your psychotherapist, body workers, yoga and meditation teachers, personal trainers, medical staff, carers and other trainers and teachers as required. The treatment team is led by our Clinical Consultant who conducts the initial assessments and ensures the treatment focus is coordinated and responsive. In cases where family dynamics play a part in recovery, family members are also invited to participate in some aspects of the programme where therapeutically beneficial and with the client’s consent.

Your daily programme will generally begin at 8.00 am and continue through the day until 5.00 to 6.00 pm. Depending on your general health, rest time will also be included in your programme. All programmes are timetabled and faxed to you weekly (sometimes daily if there are variations), and are constantly revised to take into account your preferences, your improving health and other relevant circumstances. Your programme is flexible yet designed to have maximum overall therapeutic benefit. Even if you do not understand the value of a particular therapy, it is important to try it out and experience what it offers. In addition to the core therapies essential to The SBB model, many other therapies and services are available upon request
