"My vision for The Sanctuary was to create one of those places you dream about going
- to feel healed, nurtured, held, and cared for.” |
Debilitating psychological or physical conditions such as anxiety, depression, chronic
pain, stress related disorders, alcoholism or addictions, or eating disorders, not only
ruin lives but can also affect the lives of families and friends. While these conditions
are inherently difficult to support, there comes a time where they become
unmanageable and it becomes necessary to seek experienced and professional help.
In relation to addiction and alcoholism, very few want to let it be known that their family
member or loved one is an addict or alcoholic, which makes it even harder to find help.
It is understood that you cannot force someone into recovery. The person must be
willing; willing to get help, and ready to accept it.
Every addict/alcoholic, usually many times, comes to a point where they swear they
won’t drink or take drugs again. They say they’ve had enough, they hate their life. They
know what they are doing is detrimental, ruining their life and their relationships. This
acknowledgement is the first spark toward a life of clean, sober and healthy living. It is
all that is needed to start and accomplish a strong and fulfilling lifestyle. My personal
experience strengthened that spark into a driving force that has created a service to
help all people in need, whether it be addiction, trauma, eating disorders or other
psychological issues.
This is what I want to share with every other person in suffering. My vision for The
Sanctuary was to create one of those places you dream about going - to feel healed,
nurtured, held, and cared for. We offer a unique and holistic approach to treatment that
is aimed at body, mind, soul and heart and tailored to each individual with an emphasis
placed on physical health, mental well being and emotional connection. Our clients
leave our programme knowing what they have to do to maintain improved physical and
mental states and are taught skills to better manage their lives. They are introduced to
a range of modalities so that they can determine what works for them, and they are
connected to practitioners in their local area so that they can continue a healthy and
positive lifestyle.
In creating the best possible environment with diverse approaches and sourcing the
best professionals in each modality, we have achieved a powerful healing programme,
specifically designed to empower each client to take control with the confidence to
create the lives they want; complete with positive and satisfying relationships, a
rewarding job or career and a sense of contentment and happiness.
